The Free version provides the foundation: a reproducible Debian bridge, a usable Icecast stream, and standalone binaries for installation and lossy audio streaming (320 kbps).

Installation (quick start)

Transfer the downloaded binary to your default directory using filezilla or any ssh capable software.
Connect via SSH as root on your Debian (version 12 mini).
Run the following command as root to launch the binary:

chmod +x spotifyd-free
./spotifyd-free

During installation, icecast admin/stream password will be asked to user

Open the Icecast URL (DebianIp:8000/Mountpoint) from VLC / LMS / Roon (URL displayed by the binary).

Notes

Provide a stable VM (adequate CPU/RAM) to limit micro-interruptions.
If you encounter problems: restart the services and read the systemd logs.
The Free version aims for “standard” stability with a 320 kbps audio stream. For advanced needs (HD FLAC stream, advanced metadata, latency tuning, audio profiles), see the Premium version.
